Is Axis Campus available for my school?
Axis Campus has launched exclusively for NYU students. You can sign up using your @nyu.edu email address. We're working on expanding to other campuses soon!
How do I verify my @nyu.edu email?
When you sign up, we'll send a verification code to your @nyu.edu email address. Enter the code in the app to verify your account. This ensures only verified NYU students can join the community.
I'm not receiving my verification code. What should I do?
Check your spam/junk folder first. If you still don't see it, wait a few minutes and request a new code. Make sure you're using your official @nyu.edu email address. If problems persist, contact support with your email address.
What chats will I automatically join when I sign up?
Once you create your account, you'll automatically be added to: your School (year) chat, All of your School Chat, your Major Chat, plus any micro-communities you select. Class group chats are also automatically created when you add your classes to your profile.
How do I join class group chats?
Class group chats are automatically created when you add your classes to your profile. Once you add a class, you'll automatically be added to the corresponding group chat where you can connect with classmates.
What is Axis AI and how does it work?
Axis AI is your personal campus connection assistant. Simply tell Axis what you want to do (e.g., 'study for calculus tonight' or 'grab dinner at 7'), and it will anonymously match you with students who share your interests and are available at that time. Axis anonymously pings matched students with your intent—your identity stays private until you're ready to connect.
How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?
You can report users or content directly from the app. Tap the three dots menu on any message or profile, then select 'Report'. Our team reviews all reports promptly and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe community.
Can I change my email address?
Yes! Go to your profile settings and select 'Change Email'. You'll need to verify your new @nyu.edu email address with a verification code. Note that you must use a valid @nyu.edu email to maintain access to Axis Campus.
How do I create or join a micro-community?
Micro-communities are created automatically when you use Axis AI to find people for activities. You can also browse existing communities in the Explore section and join ones that match your interests.
I'm having trouble with notifications. What can I do?
Make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings for Axis Campus. In the app, go to Settings > Notifications to customize which notifications you receive. If you're still not receiving notifications, try reinstalling the app.
